Welcome to my teaching portfolio! I am an Associate Professor of German Studies at Montana State University. I teach in the Modern Languages & Literatures Department as well as the Department of History & Philosophy. I serve as German Studies Coordinator, campus Fulbright committee member, Undergraduate Scholars committee member, and DAAD Research Ambassador 2026-2027.

My research interests include print culture, visual language, and material histories in literature and film. My book Out of Line: Reading & Writing Protest in West Germany, 1968 (University of Michigan Press, 2026) explores the relationship between protest and print culture during West Germany's Global Sixties (see also: Out of Line playlist). Currently, I am investigating new media engagement and urban topographies as platforms of hybrid storytelling and activism.

Students in my classes think through material and language in order to craft critical responses to deeper-set cultural questions about our past, present, and future.
